Due to COVID-19, we’ve made adjustments to our kayak tours to ensure that you stay healthy and enjoy your adventure with peace of mind. La Jolla Kayak follows the latest CDC and San Diego County guidelines and monitors these mandates weekly.

What our staff is doing:

  • All kayak and snorkel equipment will be sanitized with CDC approved solution after every use.
  • We will be handing out sanitized personal flotation devices (PFD) to eliminate handling.
  • To avoid crowding around the lockers, we offer a limited number of lockers at this time.

What we ask of you:

  • If you’re experiencing any symptoms, please stay home. We will refund you 100%.
  • Please come prepared and dressed—fitting rooms are not available except for clients renting wetsuit gear.
  • Our restrooms remain closed to the public at this time.
  • Face coverings are required inside the kayak shop at all times. For kayak tours, rentals, and all ocean activities you aren’t required to wear one, but we will be implementing safe distancing at all times.
Kayak to the La Jolla Sea Caves and explore the La Jolla Ecological Reserve!

Our fully guided tour puts you alongside the migration path of the gray whales. Only available December – February.
December through April, over 20,000 gray whales make a 10,000 mile round-trip journey from Alaska to the lagoons of Baja California, where the females give birth to their calves. They typically spend several months in the warm Baja California waters to benefit the growth of their young and journey home up north in the spring. With 70 miles of coastline directly in the migration path, San Diego is the perfect destination to see the impressive parade of the gentle giants!

This tour keeps a respectable and safe distance from the migration path. No experience necessary!

  • Single kayak starting at $59*
  • Double kayak starting at $89*

*Prices may vary based on date and time.
